Back to work

I am finally back to painting after more than 2 months off. Before starting, the first thing I had to arrange was air-conditioning ( see photo ). The last 2 years each had a 16 day long heatwave above 39C which made it impossible to work. I don't need any more disruptions, I have a lot I want to accomplish this year and I've been planning it for months. What else was there to do whilst recuperating? Daytime TV was slowly driving me insane, so I went over & over the whole year, mapping it out.

I have a solo exhibition in Melbourne with Charles Nodrum Gallery in November, several group exhibitions throughout the year and one major project, which I'll won't memtion yet. There are other new things I want to try out this year and I won't jinx them by talking about them either, well not yet anyway.

It's all mapped out in detail, but I wont itemise it here because anything can go wrong (as it recently did for me) and I know if I did, any changes to it will always find someone who'll point out "what about...........?"

Meanwhile, one very small painting has already been painted this year and I think it's a good start.....there it is on my desk, or below in detail.

Painting, it's like riding a bicycle, you take off where you left off, without losing anything.

Jim, good to see you are back. i know what you mean about lying around because of illness and desperate to get back to the easel! this painting is wonderful not only because it is a delight to look at but also because it is soooo small and you have not compromised on the standard of your work! best wishes r.
